What is a Japanese Head Spa?
A Japanese Head Spa is a specialised scalp treatment that combines deep cleansing, scalp massage, and hydrotherapy to detoxify the scalp, relieve tension, and nourish hair follicles. Rooted in traditional Japanese techniques, this holistic therapy is perfect for those suffering from dry scalp, dandruff, hair thinning, or excessive oil production. The treatment enhances blood circulation, ensuring a healthy environment for strong, beautiful hair growth.

✔ Stimulates Hair Growth – Increases blood circulation to hair follicles.
✔ Balances Scalp Oil Production – Ideal for oily or dry scalps.
✔ Relieves Stress & Tension – A deeply relaxing experience for mind and body.
✔ Hydrates & Nourishes Hair – Leaves hair soft, shiny, and revitalised.

FAQ
When is it Safe to Have a Japanese Head Spa After Cancer Treatment?
We understand that hair and scalp health are important during and after cancer treatment. If you have undergone chemotherapy or radiotherapy, please follow these guidelines before booking a Japanese Head Spa:
Wait until your treatment is fully completed.
We recommend waiting at least 3-6 months after your final chemotherapy or radiation session, depending on your doctor's advice.
Your immune system should have recovered, and any scalp sensitivity, burns, or irritation should have healed.
✅ Consult with your oncologist or medical professional.
Always seek medical approval before booking a scalp treatment, especially if you’ve had hair loss, scalp damage, or ongoing medication.
✅ If your hair is regrowing, choose a gentler treatment.
If you are in the early stages of post-chemo hair regrowth, we can tailor the treatment with extra care to avoid disturbing fragile hair follicles.
Please inform us in advance so we can adjust the massage pressure, product selection, and water temperature to suit your needs.
✅ For radiation patients, check for residual scalp sensitivity.
If you’ve had radiotherapy on your head or neck, the treated area may remain sensitive for a long time.
Please ensure the skin is fully healed, not tender, and free from irritation before booking.
What are the benefits of a Japanese Head Spa?
Deeply cleanses and detoxifies the scalp
Helps unclog hair follicles and reduce dandruff
Stimulates blood flow to encourage healthy hair growth
Relieves tension, headaches, and stress
Hydrates and balances the scalp
Enhances overall hair shine and strength
Is Japanese Head Spa good for hair loss?
Yes, it can support hair growth by stimulating blood circulation, unclogging follicles, and improving scalp health, all of which are key factors in reducing hair shedding and encouraging stronger, healthier regrowth.
Can I have this treatment if I have hair extensions?
We are unable to offer this treatment while extensions are in place, due to the water and massage techniques involved. However, we can safely treat the scalp between extension removal and reapplication.
What if I have scalp conditions such as psoriasis or eczema?
If you have psoriasis, the treatment can only be carried out during a remission or symptom-free period. Please let us know in advance so we can assess suitability.
Clients with open wounds, infections, or active flare-ups should wait until the condition has cleared before booking.
What should I do before and after my appointment?
Before:
Avoid using heavy styling products on the day of your appointment
Please inform us of any scalp conditions or sensitivities during booking
After:
Avoid washing your hair for at least 24 hours to allow the treatment products to fully absorb
Limit the use of heat styling tools immediately after the treatment
You may experience a refreshed, slightly tingling scalp – this is normal and temporary
Is the treatment suitable for all hair types?
Yes. Japanese Head Spa treatments are suitable for all hair types and textures, including natural, coloured, and chemically treated hair.
How often should I have a Japanese Head Spa?
For optimal scalp health and relaxation, we recommend a treatment every 4–6 weeks, or more frequently if you are experiencing specific scalp concerns such as dandruff, oiliness, or hair thinning.
